Wisconsin beats Nebraska, 7-0, remains undefeated in Big Ten


MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin (12-2, 3-0) had no problem transitioning back into Big Ten play this Sunday afternoon when they took down Nebraska (4-11, 0-3), 7-0, at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The Badgers remain undefeated in Big Ten play and share the conference lead with No. 3 Ohio State and No. 16 Michigan.
 
The Badgers dominated the doubles competition against the Cornhuskers. Wisconsin gained their 14th doubles point of the season, remaining undefeated in team doubles.
 
Senior John Zordani and sophomore Osgar O'Hoisin tallied the first doubles win for Wisconsin at the No. 2 doubles position. The tandem beat Nebraska's Micah Klousia and David Samardzija, 6-2. Zordani and O'Hoisin have stifled opponents all season long and only added to their impressive 11-2 doubles record in the dual season.
 
Junior Lamar Remy and freshman Chase Colton clinched the doubles point for the Badgers at the No. 1 spot. Beating Nebraska's Dylan Bednarczyk and Toby Boyer, 6-3. The Wisconsin duo now moves to a team-best 12-2 record in the dual season.
 
The Badgers also dominated the singles category with a 6-0 record over Nebraska.
 
Remy was the first Badger done at the No. 1 singles position, winning at break-neck pace, beating Nebraska's ace Boyer in two sets, 6-3, 6-3. Remy holds a 2-1 singles record in Big Ten play and an overall mark of 9-4 in the dual season.
 
Zordani earned the next win for the Cardinal and White at the No. 6 spot over Samardzija, 6-3, 6-3. The senior has only played in four matches this year but has won them all. He moves to 1-0 in conference play on the season.
 
Colton clinched the match for UW at the No. 5 spot with a win over Chris Dean. The freshman won 6-3 in the first set and didn't surrender a single game in the next, winning 6-0. The freshman holds an 8-5 record in the dual season and is 2-1 in Big Ten play.
 
The Badgers are back in action on Friday at 6 p.m. when they take on Northwestern at home for another Big Ten matchup.
