COLUMBIA, Mo. –
Hazel Hertting led the Wisconsin diving team on the first day of the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships at the Mizzou Aquatic Center on Monday.
Hertting qualified for the event final on the 3-meter springboard after taking 10th in the preliminary round with a score of 309.25 points. The sophomore went on to take 10th overall after the final session with an accumulated total of 613.60 points.
Also competing for the Badgers in the women's 3-meter competition were
Ashley Peterson, who took 24th with a score of 272.00, and
Alexandra Hafey, who placed 35th with 242.35 points.
Kevin Pomeroy led the UW men on the 1-meter board with a 23rd-place finish, garnering 267.10 points.
Andrew Pearce took 26th with a score of 255.30 and
Max Reynolds posted a score of 253.95 to take 27th.
The NCAA Zone Championships continue Tuesday as the women compete on the 1-meter board and the men tackle the 3-meter. The men will compete at 11 a.m. (CT) and the women will follow at 4:45 p.m.
