MADISON, Wis. – The Badgers competed hard all Sunday and were rightfully rewarded with an undefeated day of tennis. After upending Cornell hours before Sunday morning, the Wisconsin men's tennis team turned around to knock off in-state rival Green Bay, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
The Badgers nabbed the doubles point behind efforts from pairs sophomore
Daniel Soyfer and senior
Chema Carranza and senior
Josef Dodridge and junior
Osgar O'Hoisin.
Dodridge and O'Hoisin were the first ones done, beating Green Bay's Felix Triebe and Charlie Ridout. Soyfer and Carranza were moments behind with a 6-3 win on court three over Charlie Croxford and Miles McDowall.
Soyfer continued his legacy in the spring, protecting his undefeated spring record in singles play. The Plantation, Florida, native, dominated in straight-sets, 6-2, 6-4 over Charlie Croxford at the No. 4 singles slot.
Freshman
Jesper Freimuth and O'Hoisin put the finishing two tallies on the board for Wisconsin to clinch the match.
Up Next: The Badgers will enjoy some time away from competition before returning to the clay for a Big Ten match at Nebraska on Saturday, March 17.
