Box Score MADISON, Wis. – Sunday's match against No. 15 Oregon proved once again that the Wisconsin men's tennis team (6-2, 0-0 B1G) deserves to be in the conversation as one of college's elite teams. The Badgers played the Ducks to the bitter end but fell by the smallest of margins, 4-3.
 
It was all about the Germans, freshman Lenard Soha and sophomore Jesper Freimuth. The pair helped capture the team doubles point with a 6-4 win over Oregon's Ty Gentry and Emmanuel Coste. The other Wisconsin tandem, sophomore Robert Krill and junior Chase Colton secured the point for the Cardinal and White, beating Charles Roberts and Riki Oshima 6-4.
 
The Badgers move to 8-0 on the year in doubles.
 
Freimuth continued into the singles frame with the same dominant mentality. The sophomore won brilliantly over No. 78 Emmanuel Coste 6-3, 6-4. The Berlin, Germany, native, moves to 6-2 in the dual season at the No. 2 spot – a leap and a bound improvement from a near-.500 record a season ago at the No. 6 position.
 
The young gun, Soha, rocketed to a 6-1, 7-6 win over Oregon's Roberts.

"The guys have amazing fight and chemistry together. It's going to hurt tonight, and it should because we care a lot.
 
We'll learn a ton from this situation – especially since we haven't been in the situation with so many new guys in the lineup. For us to go 4-3 against an Oregon team that is 11-1 and No. 15 in the country… it says a lot about our guys. I'm excited for how we bounce back. I know we will."
