Box Score MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's tennis team looked calm, cool and collected in its mid-week primer match against Chicago State that previews an incredibly tough weekend ahead. The Cardinal and White squad jet-packed to a 7-0 win over the Cougars.
Make it 3-0 on the year in doubles for a Wisconsin team that, on paper, should lack experience and talent in the match-opening segment.
The Badgers collected the doubles point behind efforts from junior
Chase Colton and sophomore
Robert Krill who handily beat Chicago State's Gonzalo Martinez and Cody Wurzelbacher, 6-2. The German tandem of freshman
Lenard Soha and sophomore
Jesper Freimuth were right on their heels, earning a victory over George Botha and Nick Liddy, 6-3.
The young gun, freshman
Daniel Nuzhny, earned his first win as a Badger with a convincing straight-set win over Wurzelbacher at the No. 6-spot, 6-2, 6-2.
