MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's tennis team took another big step on Sunday afternoon by defeating Penn State, 4-2 on the road.
UW (14-3 overall, 6-1 Big Ten) was lead by senior
Sara Castellano, who is ranked No. 50 in the ITA singles rankings, sophomore Ann Makarova and sophomore
MaryAnn Rompf in singles play to get to four points over the Nittany Lions (11-7, 3-4).
Wisconsin began the match by winning the doubles point behind the duo of junior
Melissa Pick and freshman
Ava Markham and the duo of Castellano and junior
Christina Zordani.
Up next: Wisconsin returns home on Friday, April 12 to host Illinois at 4:30 p.m. CT at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
