MADISON, Wis. – After a successful opening weekend against Illinois State and Chicago State, the Badgers are hungry for more competitive play as they enter a weekend of three home matches. UW will battle DePaul on Friday followed by another double-header on Sunday against North Dakota and Northern Illinois. Admission is free for all three matches at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
 
1. WESTERMAN'S WING:  "It's another great week. Hopefully we build off what we did last week. Hopefully we play a little sharper and get a little more comfortable with the dual match situations. 2. SCOUTING DEPAUL:  The first match of the weekend is set for Friday, January 24 at 5:30 p.m. against the Blue Demons. DePaul began their spring season at home last Saturday, where they defeated UIC with a 7-0 sweep. Their arrival at Nielsen marks their first road match of the season.
 
This is the 20th time the Badgers and Blue Demons will meet in school history. Currently, UW holds a 19-1 all-time series record in addition to their nine-match winning streak.
 
3. SCOUTING NORTH DAKOTA:  The Badgers welcome the Fighting Hawks to Madison on Sunday at 11 a.m. for the first matchup of the double-header. North Dakota will kick off their season on Saturday against Northern Illinois at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
 
This is the first matchup between UW and North Dakota.
 
4. SCOUTING NORTHERN ILLINOIS: The final matchup of the weekend at Nielsen is at 4 p.m. against Northern Illinois. NIU currently holds a 1-1 overall record after defeating Drake 4-3 on Saturday and falling 1-6 to Gonzaga on Monday. The Huskies will compete against North Dakota on Saturday prior to their meetup with the Badgers on Sunday.
 
UW leads the series with a 31-2 all-time record. The Badgers look to extend their 18-match winning streak over the Huskies this weekend.
 
5. UP NEXT: The homestand continues for the Badgers as they host Princeton on Friday, January 31 at 6 p.m. before more dual play on Saturday, February 1 against Green Bay at 1 p.m. and IUPUI at 6 p.m. All three matches will be held at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
