Five Things to Know: Taking on the Trojans

Badgers face USC on Tuesday

MADISON, Wis. – After a four-day break since the last matchup, the Wisconsin men's tennis team is prepared to get back to work against top-ranked USC on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

1. WESTERMAN'S WING: "We are absolutely thrilled for the next week of matches. First the No. 1 team in the nation in USC on Tuesday and then the National Team Indoors. Our team can't wait to go up against these top programs and we hope to have Nielsen rocking!" - Head coach Danny Westerman.

2. SCOUTING USC: The Trojans have started off their undefeated season with a four-match winning streak, verifying a 4-0 record. The season began with two sweeps over UNC Wilmington and Santa Clara, 4-0, before defeating Stanford, 6-1, and California, 4-1. The Trojans are yet to drop the doubles point in season play. Currently, USC holds the all-time series lead, defeating Wisconsin in all four matchups in school history.

3. REMATCH IS IN ORDER: The previous matchup between the Badgers and the Trojans was during the second round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament in Los Angeles, California. Wisconsin dropped the opening doubles point and was unable to capitalize in the singles bracket, ending the match in a 4-0 defeat. Three years later, the Badgers are motivated for a rematch against USC.
