Five Things to Know: Badgers hit the road

Wisconsin takes 2-0 record to Alabama for matches with Vanderbilt and Auburn

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin men's tennis team will hit the road for the first time this season when it travels to Auburn, Ala., this weekend for a pair of non-conference dual matches. The Badgers will take on Vanderbilt at 11 a.m. Saturday and face Auburn at 1 p.m. Sunday.

  1. Keep up the Momentum: Wisconsin is 2-0 after a successful - and at times stressful! - opening weekend. The Badgers defeated North Dakota 5-2 last Friday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium before rallying for a 4-3 win over DePaul on Saturday. Sophomore Tim Dzhurinskiy clinched the Badgers' win in dramatic fashion, scoring a 6-4, 6-7(4-7), 6-4 win over the Blue Demons in a back-and-forth battle in his first singles match of the season at the No.6 spot.

  2. Picture-Perfect Parts: Junior Robin Parts went 4-0 last weekend, going 2-0 at the No.4 singles spot and 2-0 at No.2 doubles with partner Sebastian Vile. The duo defeated North Dakota's Cian McDonnell and Edmond Aynedjian 6-2 and posted a 6-3 win over DePaul's Tripp Tuff and Matteo Iaquinto. In singles, Parts defeated North Dakota's Riley Odell in a third set tiebreaker before downing DePaul's Tripp Tuff in straight sets.

  3. In Neutral Territory: Wisconsin will play a neutral-court match for the first time this season on Saturday morning against Vanderbilt in what is expected to be a competitive match inside Auburn's Yarbrough Tennis Center.

  4. Follow the Action: Live updates on the Badgers can be found on Twitter (@BadgerMTennis) and Instagram (@wisconsintennis), while live scoring will be linked from the men's tennis schedule page on UWBadgers.com.

  5. Up Next: The Badgers are back at Nielsen next Friday, Feb. 4, to host in-state rival Marquette at 5:30 p.m. A home match with Drake follows at noon on Sunday, Feb. 6.
