UW head coach Mark Johnson
On Sophie Shirley entering the top-10 in career scoring:
"We talked about her getting off to a good start and she's had 10 strong games. She's playing hard, she's creating things and she's playing with great tempo and speed. I'm excited for her and I'm happy for her. It's a tough mountain to climb and she's up there."
On the team gaining confidence:
"I would say the players are getting to know one another. We talked in the past that half the team wasn't around last year, so it's a matter of playing some games and gaining some experience. We've made progressions each week, so we have gotten better. I was anxious to see where we were going to be this week. Last night we played very well, tonight for most of the game it was a good game. So now hopefully it is a confident team that will go up to Duluth."
Senior forward Sophie Shirley:
On what has improved since the first weekend:
"Our overall 60-minute effort has improved, I think we are able to piece it all together and play that 60-minutes of hockey. Tt's huge, and it's going to be huge moving forward, and you know I am happy to see it."
Freshman defender Caroline Harvey:
On the balance of the offense:
"It just shows anyone can contribute to our offense, and we are developing a lot of different offensive patterns, and anyone who is out next should just know they can bury a goal."
