URBANA, Ill. -- The Wisconsin softball team fell in game three of their weekend series against Illinois by a score of 7-1. The Sunday loss completed a series sweep for the Illini, something the Badgers haven't given up all season.
The Fighting Illini got on the board in the bottom of the second, but UW quickly tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a
Kayla Konwent solo blast. It marked her seventh home run of the season.
Konwent would be one of the few Badgers to see success at the plate as the senior ended the day 4-4, notching the majority of UW's seven total hits on the day.
Illinois broke the game open in the fifth inning when Wisconsin allowed five Illini runs to cross the plate, giving a 7-1 lead to Illinois that would hold through the rest of the afternoon.
