Huven and Stubler have standout hurdle races
TUCSON, Ariz. – The Wisconsin women's track and field team wrapped up the Jim Click Shootout on Saturday, winning one event and recording four top-10 all-time performances
Huven, Stubler have standout hurdle races
Junior Destiny Huven and senior Bianca Stubler were standouts for the Badgers on Saturday in their respective hurdle races.
Huven won the 100-meter hurdles in 13.45 seconds while Stubler finished second in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.40. Stubler's time was a personal best, ranking her 10th in the NCAA this season while leading all Big Ten Conference performers. Her time also moves her up to second at Wisconsin, just .24 seconds off the school record set by Tracey Mattes in 1990.
The Badgers also ran the second-fastest UW time ever in the 4x100-meter relay as the team of Huven, Armoni Brown, Kiley Robbins and Taylor Gilling finished second in 44.53. The quartet is just .05 seconds off the school record set in 2018.
Robbins also finished third in the 100-meter dash in 11.51 and fifth in the 200 meters in a personal best of 24.13. Her 200 time ranks seventh all time at UW. Gilling finished fifth in the 100 meters, running a personal best time of 11.77, and also took sixth in the 200 meters in 24.18.
Throwers record top B1G marks
Olivia Roberts continued the Badger's success in the throws, finished third in the hammer with a personal-best mark of 195 feet, 7 inches. Her throw moves her up to third all-time at Wisconsin ranks her sixth in the Big Ten this season. Chloe Lindeman finished fourth in the hammer with a throw of 186-0.
Josie Schaefer picked up two second-place finishes in the throws on Saturday. The Baraboo native finished second in the shot put at 55-11 3/4, ranking second in the Big Ten this season, and second in the discus at 171-9.
Other top finishers on Saturday were Emma Watcke, placing third in the 1500 meters in a personal best of 4:28.36. Tia Dorshorst recorded a third-place finish in the pole vault at 12-11 1/2 while teammate Julia Moore also cleared 12-11 1/2 to place fifth.
