Wisconsin prepares for a busy weekend

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's track and field team continues its outdoor season this weekend with most of the team traveling to the Oregon Relays in Eugene, Oregon. Select Badgers will also compete in the Indiana Relays in Bloomington, Indiana. Both meets compete on Friday and Saturday.

Here are five events to watch this weekend.
1. FAST BADGERS: Armoni Brown, Kiley Robbins and Taylor Gilling are all scheduled to compete in the 100 and 200 meters. Robbins currently holds the school record in the 100 meters with a time of 11.44 seconds and has also moved into seventh in the 200 meters at 24.13. Gilling also ranks in the top 10 in the 200 meters, currently sitting eighth in 24.14.
2. 10X HURDLES: Junior Destiny Huven, sophomore Mackenzie Heyroth and senior Jordan Hirsbrunner will compete in the 100-meter hurdles. Huven currently holds the school record in the event with a time of 13.02 seconds. Bianca Stubler will make an appearance in the 400-meter hurdles as well. She currently ranks second at Wisconsin in 57.40 seconds, just 0.24 off the school record.
3. STEEPLECHASE OPENERS: Graduate student Alissa Niggemann as well as Lucinda Crouch and Peyton Sippy will participate in the 3000-meter steeplechase on Friday. Niggemann holds the school record with a time of 9:41.12. She is also a 2021 outdoor NCAA Outdoor qualifier and U.S. Olympic Trials participant.
4. THROW FAR BADGERS: Redshirt junior Josie Schaefer will compete in the shot put and discus this weekend along with fellow teammate Chloe Lindeman. Schaefer ranks second all time in the shot put with a mark of 60 feet ¼ inches and second-all time in the discus with a distance of 186-10. Lindeman will also compete in the hammer where she ranks fourth all-time with a toss of 196-3. Redshirt junior Olivia Roberts ranks just ahead of Lindeman in the weight throw, hurling to a personal best of 196-7 to rank third.
5. 12.5 LAPS TO GO: The Badgers have a large field of competitors in the 5,000 meters as Scarlet Dale, Vivian Hacker, Heidi Huermann, Shea RuhlyDanielle Orie and Alexa Westley will all compete in the 5000 meters this weekend. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:20 p.m. CT on Friday.
