Five Things to Know: Badgers hit road for final time in regular season

Badgers travel to Indiana and Purdue for conference matches

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin men's tennis team travels to Indiana this weekend for a pair of Big Ten matchups against the Hoosiers on Friday and the Purdue Boilermakers on Sunday.

1. A Split Weekend: The Badgers went 1-1 last weekend with a 5-2 loss to No. 26 Northwestern at home before an exciting 4-3 win over Illinois to improve to 3-2 in conference play. Jared Pratt, Tim Dhzurinskiy and Sebastian Vile carried the team with their trio of singles wins after a Badgers doubles point to secure the victory. Dzhurinskiy scored his 12th singles win, a team high so far this season.

2. Know the Opponent: Indiana is 5-13 on the season and are currently on an eight-match losing streak. The Hoosiers' most recent losses came at the hands of Michigan State and Michigan, dropping them to 0-5 in Big Ten play. The Hoosiers started the season off strong with three straight wins over Toledo, Bellarmine and Yale. Their other two wins were against Xavier and Illinois State.

Purdue is 9-10 overall and 2-3 in Big Ten play with wins over Indiana and Michigan State. The Boilermakers play No. 75-ranked Nebraska on Friday before hosting the Badgers on Sunday. The Boilermakers' conference losses were against No. 2 Ohio State, No. 6 Michigan, and Penn State, with the team only able to score a point versus the Nittany Lions.

3. Last Weekend on the Road: The Badgers take to the road for the final time this season, with their matches away from home including some challenging non-conference contests that have proven to be great experience for the competitiveness of Big Ten play. Each of the Badgers' losses away from home came to teams that are currently ranked in the top 50 of the ITA ratings. UW's three road victories include an impressive 5-2 win against No. 42 Oregon in February, and more recently a pair of Big Ten wins over Michigan State and Nebraska.

4. Follow the Action: Live updates on the Badgers can be found on Twitter (@BadgerMTennis) and Instagram (@wisconsintennis), while live scoring/streaming will be linked from the men's tennis schedule page on UWBadgers.com.

5. Up Next: The Badgers close out Big Ten play next weekend when they host No. 2 Ohio State on Friday, April 22, and Penn State for Senior Day on Sunday, April 24, at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
