CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Wisconsin women's lightweight rowing team finished in second place at the Head of the Charles on Sunday afternoon, the best finish in program history.
With the lineup of Emma Collins at coxswain, Falcon Jaacks, Payton Tonnos, Madison Stack and Rianne Wagner, the four finished in a time of 18:59.518. They came in behind Stanford, which clocked an 18:42.795.
The UW time of 18:59.518 would have placed 6th in the championship race event, which is a big accomplishment for the program.
The Badgers improved upon their margins, and finished almost 10 seconds ahead of the Princeton boat, who finished third with a time of 19:09.303.
Additionally, a few Wisconsin lightweight alums also raced a four on Saturday afternoon. They finished in a time of 21:14.368.

The Badgers will wrap up the fall racing season, hosting a scrimmage against Minnesota and Eastern Michigan on Nov. 4 at Lake Mendota.

On how the race went overall
"The race went really well for our team. We finished 2nd which is the best finish we've had in the lightweight four event in program history. It was good to put some good margins on the rest of the field."
On execution
"I think the team executed our game plan extremely successfully. I also think this proves that we've done some really good work in the last six weeks."
On focus for the remainder of the fall season
"Our focus will be to continue to move the needle. We trust our training plan and are excited to make the most out of the last few weeks of the fall season."
