MADISON, Wis.  — The Wisconsin men's tennis team finished off a perfect weekend Sunday against the Yale Bulldogs at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The Badgers (5-1) outlasted the Bulldogs (4-1) 4-2.

Doubles play started off slow with all three UW doubles teams down 3-0 in their respective matches. Each team came firing back to give Wisconsin a shot at the doubles point.

The graduate student duo of Jared Pratt and Jason Hildebrandt were able to win a 7-5 toss-up victory over Yale's Theo Dean and Aidan Reilly at No. 2 doubles but the win was not enough to give the Badgers the doubles point, their first doubles loss of the season.

Down 1-0, Wisconsin was not giving up without a fight, having five of their six singles players winning the first set of their matches.

First to finish was Hildebrandt at No. 2 singles, swiftly taking his first set 6-3. With momentum behind his back, he led the charge and put the first Badger point on the board with a 6-1 win in the second set, giving him a perfect weekend in both singles and doubles.

All tied up 1-1, Sebastian Vile rallied his way to a quick two-set win over Michael Sun. After taking the first set 6-4, he held off his Yale opponent to claim victory with a 6-2 second set at No. 4 singles.

Robin Parts gave it his all at No. 6 singles and had a celebration to prove it. His 6-4, 6-3 win over Yale's Walker Oberg put the Badgers one point away from victory and the whole crowd at Nielsen could hear his match-point cheers.

Lastly, Gabriel Huber came in clutch to clinch the match for UW at No. 3 singles. After convincingly winning the first set 6-3, he dropped the second set by the same score, 6-3. All tied up at 5-5, extra games were on their way and Huber had to stay strong for the win. Up 40-30 in the game, Huber clinched the match in dramatic fashion with an ace and won the third set, 7-5.

Up Next: The Badgers make their way down south for a pair of SEC matches next weekend. They first visit Alabama on Feb. 10, followed by a trip to No. 23 Auburn on Feb. 12.
