GALLOWAY, N.J. — Thanks to a third-place finish at the 2023 Big Ten Championship, the Wisconsin men's golf team recorded their highest team finish at a Big Ten Championship in 27 seasons.Â
Wisconsin's finish marks their best at a Big Ten Championship since the 1995-1996 season, where they placed 2nd (1187), and 1993-1994, where they placed 1st (1151).Â
Due to the weather, the final round of the championship was not played. After 36 holes, the Badgers finished 15-over par at the Galloway National Golf Club, totaling a 299-284=583. Third-ranked Illinois took home the title, carding an eight-under to lead them to their eighth straight championship win.Â
Cameron Huss led the Badgers with a one-over par, placing him in 12th, while
Maxime Legros trailed closely behind with a two-over par to tie for 13th. Â

Round 3
Due to inclement weather, the third round of play was canceled.Â
Saturday, April 29
Round 2
The Badgers shot an even-par 284, ending the day in third place.Â
Huss improved his score by five strokes to lead the Badgers, shooting a two-under 69. The junior shot five birdies in the second round, placing him tied for first for birdies with 10.Â
Maxime Legros and
Clayton Tribus each shot an even-par 71 to place them in the top-20.
Coalter Smith carded a two-over par, while
Max Schwarz subbed in, also tallying a two-over par.
Friday, April 28
Round 1
Despite a rainy day, Wisconsin started the championship off strong, carding a 299 (+15) to end the first round in third place.Â
Legros paved the path for the Badgers, tallying a two-over 73 with three birdies. As a team, Wisconsin ended the day with 12 birdies, the most in the first round.Â
Cameron Huss and
Clayton Tribus trailed closely behind Legros, each with a three-over par. Huss' four birdies in the first round tied for first among all golfers.Â
Coalter Smith shot a seven-over par, while
Graham Moody tallied an eight-over 79 in his first Big Ten Championship round.Â
