MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's soccer team is scheduled to take on another top team in the nation on Sunday, facing No. 4 Duke in Durham, North Carolina. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. (CT).
Here are five things to know:
1. KNOW THE OPPONENT: Wisconsin last faced Duke on November 11, 2019 in Los Angeles, California in the second round of the NCAA tournament. That match resulted in a 1-0 victory for Wisconsin. The Badgers are 1-1 all-time against the Blue Devils.
Duke is coming off a 3-1 loss against No. 24 USC on Thursday. The Blue Devils are 1-1 on the season.
2. PLAYERS TO WATCH: Graduate goalkeeper
Erin McKinney has been a force to be reckoned with between the posts for the Badgers. Through three games played so far, she has 14 saves and a 1.000 save percentage. The reigning Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week, she is coming off another top performance against UNC that saw her make eight saves to keep her third straight clean sheet.
Sophomore forward Kat Rader is one to watch for Duke. She has two goals through two games for the Blue Devils and has scored in back-to-back games to start the season.
3. RECAPPING THE WEEK: The Badgers are coming off an impressive 0-0 draw against No. 3 North Carolina. The team has yet to give up a goal through three regular season games, putting the Badgers among one of the best defenses in the country.
