Four Badger individuals compete in-state at Eau Claire
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin men's golf is continuing the season with the Frank Wrigglesworth Invitational at Eau Claire Golf and Country Club. Badger individuals will play a total of 36 holes on Sunday, Sept. 17 and Monday, Sept. 18.Â
Here are five things to know before the Badgers tee off:
1. Last Time Out: After three rounds of play at Tennessee National, Wisconsin men's golf finished the Visit Knoxville Collegiate in seventh place. The Badgers finished 16-over at their second tournament of the season, totaling a 291-288-277=856. Cameron Huss garnered top honors for the Badgers, completing the Collegiate at three-under par to tie for 11th. Huss matched his career-low 18-hole score in the third round and shot his lowest 54-hole score since the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate in October of 2021. 2. The Course: The par-71, 6807-yard Championship course at Eau Claire Golf and Country Club is the home of this year's Frank Wrigglesworth Invitational. Designed by Tom Vardon and opened in 1929, the course is known for its difficult layout and great variety of terrain. Â
3. The Tournament: 1:30 p.m. CT shotgun start on Sunday and 10:00 a.m. CT shotgun start on Monday, with 18 holes played on each day of the Invitational.Â
4. The Field: Teams competing in the Invitational include Augsburg, Bethel (Minn.), Carroll, Central College (Iowa), Edgewood, Madison Technical, UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stout, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Superior, Viterbo and Wisconsin. Four Badgers will be competing as individuals – Daniel Aas, James Boustead, Graham Moody and Carter Pitcairn.Â
