MADISON, Wis. — No. 17 Wisconsin fell to No. 6 Nebraska on Sunday, 28-9, winning three of the 10 bouts.
Eric Barnett got things going for the Badgers, scoring a three-point takedown early in the first period and was able to hold on to secure the 5-3 decision victory against No. 12 Caleb Smith. Barnett's record improves to 18-2 overall in his senior campaign.

Dean Hamiti won an gritty match, taking down Nebraska's 18th-ranked Antrell Taylor by a 7-2 decision. On the attack, Hamiti secured a takedown in the first period and then maintained his lead throughout in the win.
Max Maylor continues to impress, securing a 4-2 decision win against No. 33 Bubba Wilson, improving his record to 12-3. Maylor scored an early takedown to take early control of the bout and added a later escape, while denying Wilson any offensive points.
True freshman
Julian George made his collegiate dual debut, taking on the top-ranked wrestler in the 149-pound weight class, Ridge Lovett. George scored an escape in a valiant fight, but lost by fall at the 2:34 mark.Â
Redshirt freshman
Gannon Rosenfeld put on a show despite falling short 19-14 in a closely-contested match. Rosenfeld secured three takedowns and two reversals against his opponent Nash Hutmacher, who is a also a defensive lineman for Nebraska's football team. Several leads changes throughout the bout had fans on their feet inside the Field House in the heavyweight battle.
Wisconsin remains home for Big Ten dual action as the Badgers shift heir focus to next Friday, Feb. 2 where they will face unranked Northwestern at home in the UW Field House at 7 p.m. CT. Wisconsin will also travel to Purdue on Sunday, Feb. 4 to wrestle the Boilermakers at Noon in West LaFayette, Indiana. Both dual matches this week will be streamed live on B1G+.
