Badgers take care of Green Bay

Wisconsin wins every event

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin men's swim and dive team started off the 2024-25 season with a clean sweep of Green Bay, going one, two, three in every event on Friday afternoon at the Soderholm Family Aquatic Center on Friday afternoon. 

Senior Yigit Aslan won both of his events, finishing with a time of 1:38.60 in the 200 freestyle and 4:27.97 in the 500 freestyle. 

Senior Ben Wiegand also had a clean sweep of first place on the night, in the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. He finished with a time of 20.10 and 54.85, respectively. 

Wisconsin had six swimmers in the 100 butterfly, all finishing within two seconds of each other. Charlie Jones led the pack with a time of 49.09.

Making his collegiate debut, freshman Jaden Eikermann won the 1-meter with a score of 303.45, while junior Jan Lanser was right behind him with 297.68 points. In the 3-meter, Lanser came out on top with 344.40 points and Eikermann finished with 332.93 points. 

Up next

The Badgers will hit the road next weekend for a meet against Michigan and Notre Dame in Ann Arbor, Mich. The meet is set to begin at 4 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
