MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's swim and dive team took down Minnesota 158-142 on Friday in front of a record crowd of 968 at the Soderholm Aquatic Center.
The meet came down to the 400 freestyle relay as the Badgers were able to fend off Minnesota by over a second, finishing in 2 minutes, 54.08 seconds, in front of a crowd of 968 fans.Â
Senior Chris Morris led the way for the Badgers, winning the 100 and 200 freestyle. The Minnesota native shattered the Soderholm pool record in the 200, touching the wall at 1:33.65.Â
Wisconsin swimmers won five other events to pad the lead. Junior Taiko Torepe-Ormsby continues his strong season after winning the 50 Free in 19.49. Senior Yigit Aslan dominated the distance, winning the 1000 Free at 8:52.64. Aslan also finished second in the 500 Free at 4:19.99. Nathan Welker also took the 100 Backstroke at 47.11 while Dominok Torok won the 200 Breaststroke in 1:55.51.
