MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin men's tennis team (0-8, 0-0 B1G) hosts its final round of matches at home until April 5 this weekend, as it welcomes Butler on Friday, Feb. 23 followed by No. 32 Denver on Sunday, Feb. 25. The matches will commence at 3 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. respectively and will be played inside Nielsen Tennis Stadium. 

Here are five things you should know before Wisconsin welcomes its two opponents:

1. SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS: The Butler Bulldogs are 3-9 so far this season, with victories coming against Marian, Georgetown and Cornerstone. The team is coming off two-straight 7-0 losses sustained Feb. 17 and 18 to Louisville and then Bellarmine. The last time the Badgers and Bulldogs faced off was on Jan. 28, 2012, with Wisconsin claiming a 6-1 victory inside Nielsen Tennis Stadium. This was Wisconsin's spring season opener and the team claimed the doubles point, followed by wins in straight sets at singles matches one through five. 

2. SCOUTING THE PIONEERS: The Denver Pioneers are a perfect 8-0 to begin its season and the team is coming off 5-2 and 4-0 victories against Boise State and LMU this past weekend on Feb. 16 and 18. The victory over LMU was the team's second 4-0 win of the season, and the team's eight-straight wins marks DU's second-longest win streak to begin a season in the program's Division I history. The last time Wisconsin played Denver was Feb. 23, 2014 when the Badgers knocked off the No. 54-ranked Pioneers in an upset 4-1 victory inside Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The Badgers claimed the doubles point, with Alexander Kokorev and John Zordan winning, 8-6 at No. 2 doubles, followed by a 8-4 victory by Oskar Wikberg and Elliott Sprecher at No. 3 doubles. Following this, Wisconsin took victories in all but No. 3 singles to claim the win. 

3. LAST SERVE: In Wisconsin's last time out on the court on Feb. 9 and 11, Wisconsin lost 2-5 to Auburn, followed by a 6-1 defeat to No. 21 Alabama. Against the Tigers, Wisconsin took the doubles point for the first time since the team won it against DePaul on Jan. 19. Matthew Fullerton and Michael Minasyan won the No. 1 doubles match, 6-4 and were followed by a 7-6 (7-4) victory by Oliver Olsson and Tomas Zlatohlavek at No. 2 doubles. Collin Beduhn won the No. 4 singles match against Auburn's Alejandro Moreno, with a final score of 3-6, 7-5, 6-3. Against the Crimson Tide, Michael Minasyan pulled off an upset victory, defeating Filip Planinsek, the No. 51-ranked singles player, 6-4, 7-5.

5. UP NEXT: Wisconsin heads on its first road trip in over a month as it travels to the East Coast to begin a seven-match road trip. Next week, Wisconsin will play Yale on Friday, March 1 in New Haven, Conn., followed by Princeton on Sunday, March 3 in N.J. The first match will take place at 5 p.m., followed by a 1 p.m. match two days later.
