Badgers finish fifth at Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational

Chan and Carter complete invitational in top-15
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Wisconsin women's golf team picked up a fifth-place finish at the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational after shooting a 29-over 893 (298-296-299) to close the Badgers' regular tournament season.
Chloe Chan led the Badgers as the junior finished tied for 11th place at six-over par (74-74-74=222). Carly Carter followed closely behind, tying for 14th at seven-over par (76-74-73=223). Â
Wisconsin also paced six of the Big Ten Schools competing in the Invitational as the team prepares for the 2024 Big Ten Championships next weekend. Ohio State finished first among the 12-team field with a seven-under 857.Â
Carter carded a one-over 73 with four birdies, placing her tied for 14th at seven-over par. Chan followed closely behind with a two-over 74 helping her to lead the Badgers at six-over par (T11).Â
Improving her second round score by six strokes, Ava Salay also shot a two-over 74 to tie for 50th at 17-over par. Fellow freshman Kate Brody finished tied for 29th place at 12-over par after shooting a six-over 78 in the final round.
Vanessa Ho shot a seven-over 79, placing her tied for 36th at 13-over par, while Alexia Siehl wrapped up the Invitational with an eight-over 80 to tie for 29th place (+12).Â
Siehl shot a one-over 73, placing her tied for 14th at four-over par with Chan, who carded a two-over 74 in the second round.Â
Carter also finished out the day with a two-over 74 to tie for 26th at six-over par. Ho tallied a three-over 75, while Brody shot a four-over 76, placing them each tied for 26th at six-over par.
Salay tallied an eight-over 80 in the second round, good for 64th place (+15).Â
Chan and Brody led the Badgers in the first round, each shooting a two-over 74. Chan tallied four birdies in the opening 18 holes, while Brody grabbed three.
Siehl and Ho each carded a three-over 75, while Carter completed the round with a four-over 76 and four birdies. Salay rounded out the lineup with a seven-over 79.Â
