MADISON, Wis.
– The Wisconsin women's rowing team kicks off postseason competition this week when it heads to Devil's Lake State Park in Baraboo to race in the 2024 Big Ten Rowing Championships.

Before they hit the water, here are f(oar) things to know:

1 - CHAMPIONSHIP DETAILS: Wisconsin is set to host the Big Ten rowing championships at Devil's Lake State Park for the first time in five years, most recently hosting the event in 2019.

The eight-team Big Ten Championships marks the fourth women's rowing event to take place at Devil's Lake since 2015. The Badgers' first event took place on May 2, 2015, with Michigan State and Minnesota competing. UW also raced there on Oct. 18, 2015, against Minnesota, and played host to the Big Ten/Big 12 Invite on April 23, 2016, with the Badgers, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa taking part. The program has scrimmaged at the venue, as well. The Wisconsin men's team has also competed at Devil's Lake several times since first racing there in 2012.

The winner of the 2024 Big Ten Rowing Championships will receive an automatic bid into the 22-team NCAA championships that take place May 31 – June 2 in Bethel, Ohio. Additional Big Ten squads can earn NCAA bids as an at-large team. That announcement will come on Tuesday, May 21 at 4 p.m. CT via a streamed selection show at NCAA.com.

For additional information about the event, please head to the Big Ten Rowing Central web page.
