MADISON, Wis.- The Wisconsin women's basketball team will host San Diego on Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. (CT) for the team's annual Education Day game. The game will be available to watch on B1G+.
Here are five things to know before the Badgers host the Toreros:
1. BADGER SPOTLIGHT: Junior guard Kyrah Daniels has been a force early this season, leading Wisconsin with 13.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game through ten contests. She poured in a season-high 21 points against Bowling Green, knocking down five three-pointers.Graduate guard Destiny Howell has emerged as one of the Badgers' go-to scorers, averaging 12.5 points per game while shooting 48.0% from the field and 42.9% from three through ten games. She set a new season high with 23 points on 8-of-15 shooting against Green Bay.
2. TOREROÂ SCOUTING REPORT:Â San Diego enters the game at 4-6 under first-year head coach Blanche Alverson.
The Toreros average 56.9 points per game and shoot 34.2% from the field and 26.9% from three, and 63.2% ath the line, but they make up for their offensive struggles with a strong presence on the boards, grabbing 42.3 rebounds per game.
Wisconsin and San Diego have met just once before, in 1986. The Badgers hold a 1–0 advantage heading into the first meeting in Madison.
3. EDUCATION DAY:Â Last season's Education Day event was a tremendous success. With a crowd of over 5,900 in attendance, the Badgers defeated the UAlbany Great Danes, 69-59.
