Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Wisconsin men's tennis team fought hard against No. 20 Illinois on Sunday afternoon but fell short of the match victory. The Fighting Illini claimed the doubles point with two match victories and went on to win six singles matches.Â
In doubles action Oliver Olsson and Tomas Zlatohlavek improved to 6-3 as a partnership with another win at No. 1. They took down Illinois' top pair 7-6, winning the tiebreak 7-5. Illinois took wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to secure the 1-0 lead.
In singles play three different Badgers saw sets go to tiebreaks. Unfortunately for Wisconsin, Illinois did not end up dropping a set in singles action.Â
Wisconsin is now 0-2 in Big Ten play and 6-4 overall.Â
