MADISON, Wis. – No. 23 Wisconsin women's soccer opens the 2025 campaign at home against Milwaukee on August 14 at 7 p.m. (CT). The match will stream on B1G+.
Here are five things to know:
1. Wilkins embarks on 19th season as a Badger
Head coach Paula Wilkins enters her 19th season at Wisconsin and holds the title of winningest coach in program history, boasting a 203-106-61 record. Wilkins is currently second in the Big Ten for most career wins (322) and second in most conference titles with eight.
2. Veteran presence
The Badgers return a wealth of experience with graduate students Madison Ishaug, Ashley Martinez, and Adee Boer back on the pitch. Ishaug and Martinez were recently named Big Ten Players to Watch. In total, the team brings back 22 players from last season.
3. Fresh faces
Six new players will don the Motion W this season: freshmen Abby Ballek, Kiara Gilmore, Sascha Beasley, Grace Dykstra, and Calypso Rolly. The Badgers also added sophomore goalkeeper Ali Torhorst in the offseason.
4. Scouting the Panthers
Wisconsin leads the all-time series against Milwaukee, 26-5-7, with the first meeting in 1984 sparking a 13-0-4 unbeaten streak for the Badgers. Last season, Wisconsin earned a 2-1 win in Milwaukee and is currently riding a five-match winning streak over the Panthers.
