Badgers look to grab second-straight road win over illinois
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's basketball team is set to travel to face the Fighting Illini on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 6:00 p.m. (CT). Fans can tune it on B1G+.Â
Here are five things to know before the Badgers face the Fighting Illini:
1. THREE BALL THREAT:Wisconsin has taken a major step forward from beyond the arc in the 2025-26 season, averaging 9.0 made three-pointers per game, up from 6.0 last season, and ranking first in the Big Ten in threes made per contest, while shooting roughly 34.4% from three. The Badgers have also significantly increased their three-point attempts, rising from 17.8 per game in 2024-25 (243rd nationally) to about 25.4 attempts per game in 2025-26 (39th nationally), a jump of nearly 7.7 attempts per game.Â
2. SCOUTING THE FIGHTING ILLINI:
Head coach Shauna Green has led Illinois to a 16-8 overall record and 6-7 mark in conference play. As a team they average 77.4 points per game and pull down 36.4 rebounds per game.
Leading the attack for Illinois is sophomore Berry Wallace. She is averaging 19.0 points per game and is three points away from 500 points this season. She is also averaging 4.7 rebounds which is good for second on the team.Â
3. SERIES HISTORY:
Illinois and Wisconsin have met over 80 times with the first meeting dating back to 1974. The Badgers lead the all time series 42-41 even though they were bested in the most recent match up 74-51 in the Kohl Center.Â
4. LAST TIME OUT:
The Wisconsin women's basketball team (13-11, 5-8 B1G) fell 91-86 in overtime to the No. 24 Washington Huskies (17-6, 7-5 B1G) Sunday afternoon at the Kohl Center. Four Badgers ended in double-digits with Destiny Howell leading with 28 points while Gift Uchenna added a season-high 24 points. Laci Steele contributed 10 and Kyrah Daniels poured in 13.Â
Wisconsin finished shooting 48.6% (34-70) from the field, 50.0% (11-22) from three and 70.0% (7-10) from the line.Â
