Biography
2014-2015 (Sophomore): Filled the seventh seat on the second varsity eight boat three times and once in the second seat during the 2014-15 season…while sitting in the seventh seat, he helped the second varsity eight boat defeat Stanford and Oregon State at the Stanford Invitational…when rowing in the second seat, the boat finished 12th at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships…raced three times in the seventh seat on the third varsity eight boat, finishing ninth at the EARC Sprints and defeating Northeastern at the Devil’s Lake Challenge.
2013-2014 (Freshman): Rowed in the freshmen eight boat and the freshmen four boat that finished first place in the spring meet against Minnesota and Milwaukee School of Engineering...sat eighth seat in the third varsity eight boat and the second freshmen eight boat that boasted a first-place finish overall in the 2014 Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships.
High school: Rowed all four years of high school. Took first place in the Varsity B 8+ at the 2011 SRAA Scholastic National Championships in Cherry Hill, NJ, the 2011 New York State Rowing Championships in Saratoga, NY, and in the 2011 Philadelphia City Rowing Championships. Also took third at the 2011 Stotesbury Cup Regatta in Philadelphia, PA. Has competed in many other regattas as well, bringing in very extensive rowing experience.
Personal: Parents are Peter and Beth...intended major is business.
Reason for choosing UW-Madison: I wanted to come to Madison as it had the best combination of good rowing, awesome football, academics, and social life.
What Wisconsin Rowing means to you: This is something greater than just going to class and partying. It is more meaningful and makes me feel better about myself. It involves dedication and hard work with the desire to win a National Championship.
