MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin women's soccer team (0-3-2) notched a 0-0 draw with South Dakota State (2-1-2) after 110 minutes of play Friday night at the McClimon Complex. The game marks Wisconsin's second-straight tie of the 2010 season, after posting a 1-1 tie with Washington in extra minutes on Sept. 5.

The Badgers outshot the Jackrabbits 8-6 and, despite many great looks on-goal, were unable to find the back of the net. The Wisconsin attack saw equal opportunities throughout the game to notch what would have been the team's second goal of the season.

With just under 30 minutes left in the first half, sophomore Monica Lam-Feist (Surrey, B.C.) pushed the ball through two SDSU defenders to Laurie Nosbusch (Mequon, Wis.). Nosbusch ripped a shot, however, the ball flew just right of the post, marking the Badgers best scoring opportunity of the first half.

In the second half, it was déjà vu for Nosbusch when she fired another shot that zipped just inches away from finding its way into the back of the far-post at the 52 minute mark.

Lam-Feist nearly almost solidified the win for the Badgers in the second overtime period with a shot from the right side of the field, just outside of the 18-yard box. The sophomore fired the shot far-post, but SDSU goalkeeper Elisa Stamatakis knocked the ball away to prevent the Badgers from taking the lead.

Just minutes later, with 4:45 to go in the final overtime period, freshman Kodee Williams had an equal look at the goal. The Toronto, Ontario, native ripped the ball from the left side of the field, aiming at the far-post, but once again, the ball was unable to find the back of the net.

"I give huge credit to South Dakota State," Wisconsin head coach Paula Wilkins said. "I thought that they did a great job. I am extremely disappointed with the team. Obviously I will take responsibility for their preparation. I think that we have a lot of growing to do in the next day.

"We just need to develop a better mentality. We need to think that we are going to score."

Stamatakis and Wisconsin goalkeeper Lauren Gunderson (Middleton, Wis.) each tallied four saves in 110 minutes of play. Stamatakis is now 2-0-1 in goal for the Jacks and Gunderson is 0-1-1 for the Badgers.

Wisconsin faces Milwaukee on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the McClimon Complex.
