MIAMI, Fla. - Senior Aaron Nichols (Woodstock, Ill.) scored his second goal of the season, but the University of Wisconsin men's soccer team fell to Florida International, 2-1, in double overtime at FIU Soccer Stadium on Friday night.

Wisconsin (1-2) and Florida International (2-1) battled for 110 minutes before FIU's Nicolas Rodriguez broke the 1-1 tie and gave the Panthers their second win of the season. Diego Tamburus picked up an assist on the play.
FIU took a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick by Mike Muhseler in the 14th minute, but the Badgers quickly responded five minutes later. Nichols evened the score when he found the back of the net on an unassisted effort from inside the box in the 19th minute.
Senior Ryan Vint (Plymouth, Minn.) made two saves for the Badgers, and FIU keeper Shane Lopez also tallied two saves. FIU held the advantage in shots, 10-7. Junior Colin Monasterio (Maple Grove, Minn.) posted two shots on goal for UW.
The Badgers remain in the Sunshine State for the weekend, facing Florida Atlantic on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. CT.
