MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin men's soccer team (3-5-0, 1-3-0 B1G) will host Milwaukee (2-4-6, 1-0-3 Horizon) for an in-state showdown Tuesday at 7 p.m. CT. The Badgers will also travel to Piscataway, New Jersey, for a conference match against Rutgers (7-2-2, 2-1-1 B1G). Kickoff for Friday's match is set for 6 p.m. CT at Yurcak Field.
Here are five things to know about the games.
1 – B1G SUCCESS – The Badgers left Columbus Friday night with their first Big Ten win this season, snapping a four-game skid. Sophomore Matthew Zachemski scored the game's only goal in the seventh minute with a beautiful semi-circle shot to the top left corner. Zachemski's third goal of the season also marked his 15th career point with the Badgers. Junior Gianluca Del Priore was credited with the assist, his second at Wisconsin.
2 – BRICK WALL – Sophomore goalkeeper Matisse Hébert earned his second shutout victory this season when he blanked the Buckeyes Friday night. He posted a season-high eight saves, second-most in his collegiate career, to keep Ohio State off the scoreboard. The Buckeyes took 24 shots in the game, including 15 in the second half, but Hébert stood strong in between the pipes. The shutout marked Hébert's eighth as a Badger and helped him earn Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week.
3 – I-94 BATTLE – Wisconsin holds a 21-16-9 edge in the all-time series against Milwaukee. The teams last met in 2023 when the Badgers secured a 2-1 victory. The Panthers are undefeated in conference action through their first four games, their best undefeated opening run in Horizon League play since a 4-0-1 run to begin the 2007 season. Sophomore Fernando Pirry leads the Panthers offensively with nine points (4 goals, 1 assist) in 12 games played.
4 – SCOUTING THE SCARLET KNIGHTS – UW trails 6-7-1 in the all-time series against Rutgers. The teams met last season in Madison, where the Scarlet Knights earned a 3-1 victory over the Badgers. Rutgers is currently tied for third in the Big Ten standings with seven points. The Badgers will be tasked with defending junior Joschi Schelb, who has 15 points (7 goals, 1 assist) on 37 shots this season.
