MADISON, Wis. -- A late goal from Central Michigan snapped the Wisconsin women's soccer team's home unbeaten streak as the Chippewas prevailed with a 2-1 win over the Badgers at McClimon Soccer Complex on Wednesday night.

Wisconsin (5-3-0) entered the game with a 6-0-3 mark in its last nine games at home, but Central Michigan (6-1-1) scored two goals off of set pieces to earn the win in the first ever meeting between the schools.

 Fast Facts
• Home unbeaten streak ends at nine games
• Nosbusch scores third goal of season to tie game
• Badgers open Big Ten play on Saturday vs. Penn State

It's Wisconsin's first loss at home since suffering a 1-0 defeat to Cincinnati on Aug. 29, 2010. With a loss on Sunday to No. 14 Milwaukee, it's also the first time UW has lost back-to-back games since the aforementioned loss to Cincinnati was followed by a 2-0 loss to Portland.

"I'm kind of speechless right now," head coach Paula Wilkins said after the game. "I think the one thing we talk about is that our details haven't been very good. For us to be successful we need to be on all cylinders doing things right, whether it's clearing the ball up the field or defending properly or doing certain things.

"Give credit to Central Michigan. What they do, they do really well in terms of battling for set pieces, and obviously that worked for them."

Central Michigan got the scoring started in the eighth minute.

A handball was called on the Badgers from about 30 yards out. Liesel Toth took the free kick for CMU and buried it past Wisconsin goalkeeper Michele Dalton, who couldn't come up with the diving save.

Despite a 1-0 deficit at halftime, the Badgers held a decisive edge in shots at 11-5 and shots on goal at 6-2.

In the second half, the Badgers used a set piece of their own to even the game.

After a foul was called on the Chippewas in the 63rd minute, Catie Sessions served a ball into the box from near midfield. The ball went right to Nosbusch who turned, dribbled to her left and used a low finish to beat CMU goalkeeper Stefanie Turner.

For Nosbusch, it was her third goal of the season and the 26th of her career, tying her for fifth all-time at Wisconsin.

It was Sessions' first assist of the season.

"That play is designed for her in the back post area," Wilkins said of Nosbusch's goal. "It was good that she was there and she finished it quite well."

The decisive goal came with just 1:02 remaining on the clock.

Setting up near midfield after a foul, Toth sent a serve into the box. The ball landed and bounced to Chelsi Abbot who lobbed a shot up and over Dalton for the game-winner.

Dalton ended the game with two saves for the Badgers, while Turner stopped eight shots for the Chippewas. In addition, CMU had two team saves off the goal line.

Wisconsin finished with 16 shots and had 11 land on net, compared to Central Michigan which attempted nine shots and had four reach the goal. The Badgers held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

The Badgers return to the field on Saturday to open Big Ten play against Penn State. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
