1. LOOKING BACK: UW had its first tie of the season at Maryland, 2-2, in College Park. The Badgers suffered their second Big Ten loss and first road loss of the season Sunday, dropping a 1-0 match to No. 16 Rutgers in overtime. The Badgers battled through their fifth-consecutive overtime game, marking a new program record for consecutive overtime games.
2. SCOUTING PURDUE: The Boilermakers currently sit atop the Big Ten conference with a 9-2-1 overall record and a 4-0-1 conference record. Purdue's Maddy Williams has been on fire and ranks second in the conference for shots (42) and shots per game (3.82), goals (9), goals per game (0.82), assists (8) and assists per game (0.73). She leads the conference in points (26), points per game (2.36) and game-winning goals (5).
3. SCOUTING INDIANA: Indiana is 5-6-2 on the season and 1-3-1 in Big Ten play, most recently falling to Illinois, 3-1, in Bloomington. The Hoosiers have two strong key players in Maya Piper and Chandra Davidson. Piper has six goals and 13 points on the season while Davidson is right behind with five goals and 12 points.
4. WE'VE GOT HISTORY: Wisconsin leads both the all-time series with Purdue (9-8-3) and Indiana (14-10-2). The Badgers hold a 7-4-1 advantage over the Hoosiers in Madison and have won seven of the last nine matchups. The Badgers actually trail the Boilermakers 3-4-1 all-time in Madison. They have won the last six meetings and have not lost to the Boilermakers since 2008.
5. SUPER SENIORS: The Badgers will be celebrating the careers of two very special seniors: Caitlyn Clem and Becca Harrison. The duo was a part of the 2014 Big Ten Tournament Champions team and the 2015 Big Ten regular season champions team. They have accumulated 44 wins in their time and gone to two NCAA tournaments. They have also helped the Badgers to a .724 winning percentage in their four years.
Harrison has started in 34 matches and played in 64 as a Badger. She has three career goals including one this season against Michigan State to help UW to a 2-1 victory. She has one assist and seven career points. Harrison has played a vital role in the Badgers' midfield all four years but especially this season, starting in 10 matches to help Wisconsin to one of the highest rankings and best starts in school history. She earned Academic All-Big Ten status in 2016.
Clem has been the heart and soul of the Wisconsin defense and will go down in the Wisconsin history books as one of the best UW goalkeepers. A two-time All-Big Ten selection, Clem ranks 10th in career saves with 168, 11th in saves per game with 3.0 and eighth in shutouts with 23. Her goals-against average of .820 in 2016 ranked ninth at Wisconsin. She also tallied nine shutouts in both 2015 and 2016, marking the seventh-most by any Badger. This season, Clem is right on track for her usual success, collecting eight wins and five shutouts along with 35 saves through 12 games. She was also named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week twice in September after shutting out both Minnesota and No. 3 Virginia. Clem's shutout of No. 3 Virginia marked the second time in her career that she has earned a clean sheet against a top-10 team.
