MADISON, Wis. – After a minor slide on the road, tying Maryland and losing to Rutgers, Wisconsin bounced back in a big way this past weekend. The Wisconsin women's soccer team (9-3-2 Overall, 3-2-2 Big Ten) took on two conference opponents at its home field of McClimon Soccer Complex, capping off an unbeaten weekend. A long road trip now begins for Wisconsin as it heads to Urbana Champaign to face off with Illinois, Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. (CT) before going west to Evanston to battle Northwestern, Sunday, Oct. 15 at 3:30 p.m. (CT). Fans can follow @BadgerWSoccer for live, in-game updates. The Illinois game will also be aired on BTN Plus.

1. LOOKING BACK: The Badgers needed a big time win Friday versus the Big Ten powerhouse Boilermakers of Purdue (9-4-1, 4-2-1). Wisconsin got just that. Freshman Cameron Murtha and junior Victoria Pickett stepped up when needed for Wisconsin, both finding the back of the net. Murtha in the first half and Pickett in the second, following a Purdue equalizer goal. The Badgers celebrated their 2-1 victory as Purdue packed its bags. Sunday afternoon the University of Indiana (5-7-3, 1-4-2) was welcomed to Madison. Hoping to grab another conference win, the Badgers were unable to capitalize on their nine shots on goal, and found themselves in yet another overtime game. Two overtime periods were not enough as the two teams ended in a 0-0 draw.

2. SCOUTING ILLINOIS: The Illini find themselves near the bottom of the Big Ten, possessing a 5-10-0 overall record and a 2-5-0 Big Ten mark. Illinois struggled in the middle part of the season, falling into a seven-game losing streak. The team just recently broke out of the slump and has since won its last two games versus Indiana and Northwestern. Senior forward Kara Marbury is Illinois' player to watch. Marbury leads the team in goals, points, shots and is tied for most game winners. With a shot on goal percentage of .500, she could present a problem for Wisconsin keeper Caitlyn Clem.

3. SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN: After dropping its last two games to Indiana and Purdue, Northwestern (6-6-2, 3-3-1) finds itself struggling in the Big Ten. The Wildcats have been shut out in all but one of their losses this season. One thing Northwestern does well is shoot. The team has five different women in double digits for shots on the year.

4. YOUTH SHINES BRIGHT: Freshman forward Cameron Murtha has been quiet recently for the Badgers, but that hush ended this past weekend, in a big way. Murtha stepped up when needed and took the load off usual playmaker Dani Rhodes by getting scoring a goal on three shots, one on goal against Purdue and getting off four shots, two on goal versus Indiana. Lauren Rice, also a freshman, had two shots, one on goal in the Purdue game. Murtha had not scored since August's game against Northern Illinois. She now has three one the season.

5. PROPER SENDOFF: Wisconsin has this three-game road trip remaining and one final home game, the last game of the season, before Big Ten tournament play. That means the senior duo of Caitlyn Clem and Becca Harrison, who were celebrated Sunday in a special pregame ceremony have four games left to make the 2017 season even more unforgettable. The duo has combined for 45 wins and above a .700 winning percentage in their Wisconsin career. With this three-game road trip and one final home game left in the season, Clem and Harrison deserve to go off on top. Wisconsin will do all it can to end the season how they started- a long win streak- and make the 2017 season even more unforgettable for the senior combo.

Bonus: The Badgers are down in the all-time series record versus Illinois, 8-11-3, but hold a steady advantage against Northwestern, 17-6-1.
