- BACK FOR THE BADGERS: Wisconsin women's hockey has not only returned for another season, but is back at full-force. Emily Clark and Annie Pankowski return for the Badgers as Clark helped Team Canada earn silver at the 2018 Winter Olympics while Pankowski skated with Team USA in its lead up to the 2018 Winter Olympics. Abby Roque returns for her junior year with the Badgers as the forward led UW and WCHA in point-scoring with 41 points from 11 goals and 30 assists last season.
- AGAINST THE LIONS: The Badgers are a dominant 13-0 all-time against Lindenwood, outscoring the Lions 84-13 in those victories. Wisconsin swept the Lions in a two-game series in Madison last season, winning 3-1 and 4-0, in the team's season-opening series last year.
- LOVING LA BAHN: There's really no place like home. The same is true for Wisconsin, who has a 96-11-5 record on their home ice, LaBahn Arena, over the past six seasons. The Badgers were a perfect 17-0-0, last season and enter the season on a 29-game home unbeaten streak. The Badgers will play 10 series at LaBahn Arena this year.
- CAMPBELL SOMETHING: After earning second-team All-America honors last year, junior Kristen Campbell returns to the Badger net this year. A native of Brandon, Manitoba, Campbell was elite last year with a .939 save percentage, the second-highest in the nation. Appearing in all 38 games, Campbell owns an NCAA-leading 1.19 goals against average and 12 shutouts.
- NEW FACES: Badger fans will see some new faces on the ice this season as Wisconsin adds five freshmen to the roster. The top-dog of the mix is forward Sophie Shirley from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the same hometown as fellow forward Emily Clark. Shirley spent last year playing professional hockey in the Canadian Women's Hockey League with the Calgary Inferno, scoring eight goals and 19 points, while earning CWHL Rookie of the Year honors. Other freshmen include forward Jesse DeVito, forward Britta Curl, defender Nicole LaMantia and goaltender Cami Kronish. Curl and LaMantia both have experience with the U.S. under-18 squad while Kronish has attended USA Hockey goaltending camps.
