MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin returns home to battle No. 17 Maryland on Tuesday night. Tip is set for 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
1) POTTER'S WORLD: Wisconsin is 5-1 since redshirt junior
Micah Potter returned to play in the victory over Milwaukee on Dec. 21. Since he's been active, Potter has been averaging 9.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game off the bench for the Badgers. The Ohio native had a career day in Saturday's win at Penn State, scoring a career-high 24 points and grabbing a career-high 13 rebounds for his first double-double as a Badger.
2) BATTLE TESTED: The Badgers rank No. 25 in the NET Rankings (as of Jan. 13), which also ranks Wisconsin as having the fourth-toughest schedule in the nation. The Big Ten features 11 teams in the top 40 of the NET Rankings, including the Terrapins (17) and Badgers (25).
3) BALANCED BADGERS: Wisconsin has featured a balanced offensive attack this season with all five starters averaging more than 8.5 points per contest. Wisconsin's starters include:
Nate Reuvers (13.7 ppg),
Kobe King (10.9 ppg),
D'Mitrik Trice (9.4 ppg),
Aleem Ford (8.8 ppg) and
Brad Davison (8.7 ppg). The Badgers have had 7 different players lead the team in scoring in games this season.
4) THE TERRAPINS: Maryland is led by senior guard Anthony Cowan Jr. who is averaging 16.2 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game. The Terrapins have three players averaging double figures this season, including sophomore forward Jalen Smith who is putting up 13.3 points per game and 9.4 rebounds per game. UMD earned its first top-ten ranking (No. 3) since 2015-16 season before dropping two straight road games to Penn State (Dec. 10) and Seton Hall (Dec. 19). The Terrapins have since bounced back with big wins over Indiana and No. 11 Ohio State, alongside victories over Marquette and Notre Dame on their season resume.
5) BIG TEN BEASTS: The Badgers look to continue their dominance at the Kohl Center over Big Ten foe Maryland Tuesday night. Over the last 15 seasons, UW is 132-26 (.835) in Big Ten home games, the best mark in the conference. Since 2001-02, Wisconsin narrowly trails only Michigan State in wins and win% among Big Ten teams at 219-99 (.689).

Wisconsin 58, #20 Penn State 49
In wire-to-wire fashion, Wisconsin tallied its third-consecutive road win with a 58-49 victory at #20 Penn State last Saturday.
- It marked back-to-back road wins over ranked teams for the Badgers and the sixth road win over a top-25 team in five seasons under head coach Greg Gard.
- For the third time in the last five games, UW held an opponent under 50 points, limiting PSU to just 49 points and 32.7% field goal shooting.
- Wisconsin won at Penn State for the eighth straight time, the school's longest road winning streak against a Big Ten opponent.
- Junior Micah Potter recorded his first double-double as a Badger with career highs in points (24) and rebounds (13). Potter was an efficient 9-for-14 FG, including a career high four 3-pointers.
- Sophomore Kobe King scored 10 points and equaled his career best with four assists.
- Junior Brad Davison finished with 11 points and grabbed a career high 13 rebounds. It marked the first double-double of his career.
ALL-TIME VS. MARYLAND
- Tuesday's game will be the 17th meeting between Wisconsin and Maryland in a series that dates back to 1931. The Badgers lead the all-time series, 9-6, including a record of 4-1 in Madison.
- UW and UM are meeting for the ninth time since the Terrapins joined the Big Ten and have split each of the last eight games.
- The Badgers and the Terrapins have met in some noteworth circumstances over the last 15 years.
- Wisconsin's 78-75 overtime win in the 2000 Big Ten/ACC Challenge marked Dick Bennett's final game coaching at UW.
- The 2002 meeting, an 87-57 Terps win, came in the second round of the NCAA tournament en route to Maryland's 2002 National Championship.
- Wisconsin is 4-3 against the Terrapins with Greg Gard in the head coaching position, including a 70-57 win at No. 2 Maryland in Gard's first season (2016).
