MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin senior goalkeeper
Jordyn Bloomer made history on Thursday, as she earned All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches for a second-consecutive season.
Â
A native of Hartland, Bloomer earned second-team accolades this year after earning first-team honors last season.
Â
In her senior campaign, Bloomer led the Big Ten Conference in shutouts with seven in 14 contests. She tallied 45 saves and posted a .818 save percentage. The Hartland native helped Wisconsin finish 7-4-3 and No. 23 in the final United Soccer Coaches team rankings.
Â
The two-time All-American helped the Badgers advance to the Big Ten tournament championship game for the first time since 2014. In the Big Ten regional weekend matchup against Northwestern, she saved two shootout attempts to push UW into the tournament.
Â
In the Big Ten semifinal match against No. 22 Rutgers, she recorded four saves to help the Badgers advance to the championship game.
Â
Bloomer became the fourth Badger to earn multiple All-America honors in school history, and the first since Rose Lavelle earned four All-America honors in her career.
