No. 8 Badgers wrestle home & away Big Ten duals this weekend
MADISON, Wis. — No. 8 Wisconsin (7-0, 3-0 Big Ten) will host No. 13 Nebraska (3-2, 0-2 Big Ten) on Friday, Jan. 21 at the UW Field House at 7 p.m. CT.
The home match will be a "White Out" for fans with attendees encouraged to wear white to cheer on the Badgers. There will also be a free t-shirt giveaway. The match will be streamed live on BTN+ with Joe Miller on the call.

No. 8 Wisconsin then travels to No. 17 Purdue (7-3, 1-2 Big Ten) on Sunday, Jan. 23 at 3 p.m. CT. The Badgers will wrestle the Boilermakers in Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana and the match will air live on Big Ten Network television. Sunday's match against Purdue will be the first time that the Badgers will be broadcast on BTN this season. Fans can also watch the match on the Fox Sports app.

Here are five more things to know before the Badgers step on the mats:
1. LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin earned a history victory on Sunday with a 21-15 defeat of No. 14 Minnesota on the road. It's the first time the Badgers have beaten the Golden Gophers since 2010-11 and the first under head coach Chris Bono's tenure. No. 33 Garrett Model (157) earned a 10-5 decision over No. 4 Brayton Lee to lead the Badgers to their team victory. He was named both the Big Ten and USA Wrestling Wrestler of the Week for Jan. 19, 2022. Wisconsin won six of 10 matches against Minnesota, including Eric Barnett's 8-5 upset of No. 8 Patrick McKee at 125.
2. TOP-10: The Badgers climbed higher in the top-10 of two national rankings after the weekend's victory. The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) slotted Wisconsin at No. 8 and Intermat ranks the Badgers at No. 7 for dual meets and No. 16 for the NCAA Tournament. Nine Badgers starters remain ranked nationally by at least one media organization. Four Badgers — Barnett (125), Austin Gomez (149), Dean Hamiti (165) and Trent Hillger (285) — are ranked eighth in their weight classes. Kyle Burwick (133, #25), Garrett Model (157, #27), Andrew McNally (174, #22) and Braxton Amos (197, #22) round out the national rankings for UW on Intermat. True freshman Joseph Zargo holds a No. 19 ranking from FloWrestling at 141 pounds (all rankings noted below in lineups).
3. SCOUTING THE CORNHUSKERS:
- No. 10 Nebraska fell to No. 14 Minnesota last Friday. The Gophers won six of 10 bouts and defeated the Huskers 19-13 at Maturi Pavilion.
- Nebraska's notable wins included No. 9 Chad Red Jr. earning a 9-0 major decision over No. 17 Jake Bergeland.
- Other Wins: 174: #5 Mikey Labriola (NEB) dec. #23 Bailee O'Reilly (MINN) 9-5; 197: #4 Eric Schultz (NEB) dec. #30 Michial Foy (MINN) 2-1; 141: #9 Chad Red Jr. (NEB) maj. dec. #17 Jake Bergeland (MINN) 9-0; 149: #4 Ridge Lovett (NEB) dec. #26 Michael Blockhus (MINN) 7-2.

4. SCOUTING THE BOILERMAKERS
- No. 12 Purdue fell by the slimmest of margins last Saturday to Michigan State in a 16-16 tie after 10 matches, but surrendering the dual victory on tiebreaker criteria.
- With both teams winning five matches and neither side earning a fall, the dual was decided on total match points, which the Spartans took by one point, 50-49.
- Both sides won five matches on the evening, earning one major decision each with four decisions. The Boilermakers' wins came at 125, 141, 157, 174 and 285 pounds, including an overtime win at 141 pounds and a major decision at 174.
