Badgers take on Nebraska in last regular season match

Wisconsin will remain at McClimon to host the Huskers

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's soccer team is closing out the regular season at home this upcoming Sunday at 1 p.m. at McClimon Field against Nebraska. Wisconsin will look to add its sixth win in conference play against the visitors.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW:

1. LAST TIME OUT:
The Badgers played an intense game at home on Thursday against Illinois that ended in a 0-0 draw. Shots were firing for Wisconsin as they put up 24 shots on the night, with eight on target, however, the home team couldn't get one to fall. Wisconsin was also granted 12 corner kicks on the night but couldn't take advantage of the opportunity. Claire Odmark looked to have the game winner with only a few minutes left to play yet the goal was called off after a foul call.

2. BIG TEN STANDINGS: This fall has been full of surprises within the Big Ten conference as teams have continued to put up shocking results. Currently, the Badgers sit in seventh place and Nebraska is just ahead of them in fifth. Michigan State just grabbed ahold of the regular season title after a win against Ohio State, who sits in fourth. However, with upsets on Thursday night and huge games still to play things could be shaken up before the tournament starts on Oct. 30.

3. SCOUTING THE HUSKERS: Nebraska has done well this year as the team holds a 5-2-2 record in league play. The Huskers are coming off of a big upset against No. 24 Penn State as they dominated in a 4-2 win. In that game, sophomore Florence Belzile scored twice within the first seven minutes of the game to give the team the initial lead. However, it was Sarah Weber that has been the star of the show for the Huskers, as she has put up nine goals and four assists in her second collegiate season. Weber will be sure to apply the pressure on Erin McKinney and the Badgers defense as she leads the conference with 69 shots.

4. HOW TO FOLLOW: In order to stay updated on the upcoming game, fans can stream it on BTN+. Along with that, live stats will be updated throughout the match on our website and twitter. For one last time this season fans can also make their way to McClimon to watch the girls in action where admission is free.

5. COMING UP: With the end of the season near, Wisconsin will look to extend it for as long as possible. The team will await its opponent for the Big Ten tournament after all regular season matches have concluded on Sunday and will play in a quarterfinal match on Oct. 30.
