Badgers host annual tournament at University Ridge
Here are the five things to know as the Badgers tee off:
1. Last Time Out: Led by sophomore Chloe Chan, Wisconsin tied for 10th at the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall in Charleston, South Carolina. The team shot an 861 (+9) with a round-low of 279 (-5). Chan led the Badgers, finishing T24 with a 212 (-1) and shot a career-best 65 (-6) in the second round of the tournament, beating her previous career best of 69. Read the full recap here.
2. The Course: Home of the Badgers, University Ridge is a par-72 and will be playing at 6,248 yards for the Invitational. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and is home to the annual American Family Insurance Championship tournament. Golfweek's latest Best 2022: Top 40 Campus Courses list saw 'URidge' climb to No. 5 in the country in last week's latest ranking.
3. The Tournament: Sunday and Monday will both be tee times from 9:00- 11:20 a.m. off holes No. 1 and 10. Wisconsin will tee off No. 1 from 9:00- 9:40 a.m. CT on Sunday. Monday tee times depend on how teams finish on Sunday. Tuesday will be a 9:00 a.m. CT shotgun. Wisconsin last won the Invitational in 2010 and 2011 before a 10-year hiatus until last year's 2021 event that saw Southern Methodist take the title (875, +11).
4. The Field: Competing in the tournament are Colorado State, Delaware, East Carolina, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, North Florida, Notre Dame, Old Dominion, Rutgers, UC Davis, Washington State and Wisconsin. Competing for the Badgers are Chan, Alexia Siehl, Emily Lauterbach, Vanessa Ho and Gia Feliciano in the lineup, while fellow Badgers Carly Carter, Nicole Ciskowski, Yongze Cheng and Camille Kuznik will compete as individuals.
