MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's basketball team plays at Maryland on Wednesday in the second contest of a two-game road trip. The Badgers have won two in a row at College Park and have gone 8-5 against the Terrapins since UMD joined the Big Ten.
Before the Badgers tip, here is the Starting Five:
1. BACK-TO-BACK TURNAROUND: Wisconsin will play back-to-back road games, two days apart for the first time since 2017 when the Badgers won at Penn State, 64-63, on Dec. 4 before falling at Temple on December 6, 59-55. In fact, the last time UW played back-to-back Big Ten road games separated by just one day came in losses at Michigan State and at Iowa in the final two games of the 2006 season.
2. CAREER NIGHT: Jordan Davis scored a career-high 15 points against Northwestern on Monday, making a career-high six field goals (6-for-10), including three 3-pointers. Davis also recorded one steal and one block.
3. LIFE WITH/WITHOUT WAHL: Wisconsin is 12-3 this season, including 4-1 in the Big Ten, at full strength. Three of UW's conference losses this season have come without leading scorer, Tyler Wahl (injury).
4. STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE: The Badgers have played the fifth-toughest schedule in the NCAA according to Sagarin Ratings. UW has posted a record of 6-6 in Quad 1/2 games, with zero losses outside of the top two quadrants.
5. LAST MEETING: Wednesday marks the second meeting this season between Wisconsin and Maryland, after the Badgers earned a 64-59 win over the Terps back in December at the Kohl Center. In the season's first meeting, Chucky Hepburn scored 13 points, while Steven Crowl added 12. UW shot 42.6 percent (20-for-47) from the floor, including 33.3 percent (7-for-21) from 3-point range.
