Badgers head out west to host 14-team field in Arizona
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women's golf is headed out west to Peoria, Arizona to host the 2024 Westbrook Invitational at the Westbrook Village Golf Club where they will play a total of 54 holes between Sunday, February 25 and Monday, February 26.Â
Here are five things to know before the Badgers tee off:
1. Last Time Out: The Badgers started off their spring season at the FAU Paradise Invitational where tied for fourth at the FAU Paradise Invitational at 12 over-par. The team shot a 294-283-299=876 and was led by Vanessa Ho who tied for second place at four-under par. Read more about the FAU Paradise Invitational here.Â
2. The Course: The 2024 Westbrook Invitational will be held at the Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria, Arizona on the Vistas Course. Designed by Ken Kavanaugh, the course features a mix of both desert landscape and traditional golf design, and consistently ranks in the top courses across Arizona. The Invitational will be played at 6,248 yards as a par 72.Â
3. The Tournament: The invitational will be held on Sunday, February 25 and Monday, February 26, with 36 holes being played on Sunday, and 18 on Monday. Tee times for both days will begin at 9:30 a.m. CT with a shotgun start. The Badgers have hosted this annual tournament dating back to 2012 and it's well-known for a large crowd of fans from the local community cheering on the golfers throughout the course.
4. The Field: Teams competing in the invitational include Colorado State, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Florida, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Sam Houston, South Florida, UNC-Wilmington and Wisconsin. In the lineup for the Badgers is Carly Carter, Vanessa Ho, Kate Brody, Chloe Chan and Camille Kuznik. Additionally, Alexia Siehl will be representing Wisconsin as an individual competitor.Â
