Badgers continue spring season in Oklahoma
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women's golf is back on the road and headed south to Dornick Hills Country Club in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to compete in The Bruzzy. The Badgers will play a total of 54 holes between Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31.Â
Here are five things to know before the Badgers tee off:
1. Last Time Out: The Badgers last competed in the Briar's Creek Invitational, where the team placed 16th after finishing 37-over par. Junior Vanessa Ho led the way for the Badgers at nine-over par, placing her tied for 45th. Wisconsin finished with a 901 (299-304-298), with their best round coming in the final 18 holes. Fellow Big Ten school, Michigan State, garnered top honors among the 17-team field after finishing at four-under par.Â
2. The Course: The Bruzzy, which is held at the Dornick Hills Country Club, will be played as a par-70 at 6,071 yards. The course began as a dairy farm and later became the first Oklahoma Golf Club to be affiliated with the United States Golf Association back in 1914. Dornick Hills is known for its unique natural rock formations, including a cliff at the sixteenth hole known as "The Cliff Hole."
3. The Tournament: The invitational will be held on Saturday, March 30, and Sunday, March 31, with 36 holes being played on Saturday, and 18 on Sunday. Tee times on Saturday will begin at 8:30 a.m. CT with a shotgun start.Â
4. The Field: Teams competing in the invitational include Arkansas, Charlotte, FIU, Kent State, Minnesota, Notre Dame, North Texas, Oklahoma, Purdue, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UTSA and Wisconsin. In the lineup for the Badgers is Chloe Chan, Carly Carter, Kate Brody, Vanessa Ho and Alexia Siehl.Â
