2018-19: Wrestled to a 24-7 record during his redshirt freshman season … qualified for the 2019 NCAA Championship where he made it to the round of 12 … took third at the Big 12 Championship … wrestled to an 11-3 mark in duals … lead the team in nearfall points with 11 four-point nearfalls and four two-point nearfalls … lead the team in total dual-match points scored with 149, averaging over 10 points per dual outing … finished runner-up at the Southern Scuffle … won the Lindenwood Open … finished the season with 11 bonus-point victories that included four major decisions, four technical falls and three pins … Gomez's four technical falls was the most by a Cyclone starter … his fall over Roman Bravo-Young at the Southern Scuffle was named one of the top-10 best matches by FloWrestling.
