Gopher Invitational Results

WAYZATA, Minn. - The UW Men's golf team completed its first tournament under new head coach Michal Burcin placing13th with a score of 304-317-320--941 at the 54-hole Gopher Invitational in Wayzata, Minn. Arkansas claimed the team title with a 16-over par 290-291-299--880. North Texas was three strokes back and edged first round leader Notre Dame by two strokes with a 294-296-293--883 while UND had 282-295-308--885.

Iowa claimed the top two individual spots led by Chris Brant with a two-under-par 70-75-69--214. Hawkeye teammate Barrett Kelpin was a stroke back with 215.

Wisconsin's top finisher after two rounds was junior Anthony Aicher who tied for 45th with a16-over par 74-78-80--232. In his first collegiate meet, Thomas O'Bryan was the second Badger scorer tying for 55th with a 72-81-80--234. Sophomore Stephane Dubois placed 61st with an 82-76-880-238, while sophomore Robert Jacobsen tied for 63rd with a 75-84-81--240. Junior Chris Meyeris tied for 66th with an 82-82-80--244. Most of the scores were higher Tuesday and none of the Badgers were able to break 80 in the third round due to blustery conditions.

The Badgers take the week off before attending the Louisville Intercollegiate Sept. 26-27 at the Cardinal Club in Louisville, Ky.
