Sophomore records third top-10 finish of the season

BLUFFTON, S.C. -- Sophomore Jordan Hahn tied for sixth overall to lead the Wisconsin men's golf team to a sixth-place finish at the Colleton River Collegiate.

Hahn (68-78-75=221) shot a 3-over 75 to finish the 54-hole tournament at 5-over and finish as UW's top golfer for the fourth time this season and second consecutive outing this spring. The Spring Grove, Illinois, native collected his fourth top-10 finish as a Badger and third this season.

"I'm proud of Jordan and he just continues to be our rock every week so we're all really excited for him," UW head coach Michael Burcin said.

Pete Kuhl (77-75-76=228) concluded with a 4-over 76 to tie for 26th, while Nick Robinson (77-80-72=229) saved his best for last with an even par-72 to finish one stroke back in a tie for 31st.

At 17-over, Brett Robinson (78-75-80=233) ended in a tie for 41st and Eddie Wajda (78-78-83=239) finished tied for 56th.

Ben Skogen (74-79-81=234), who competed as an individual, tied for 45th.

Michigan State took home the tournament title at 20-over, followed by Alabama-Birmingham (+23), Connecticut (+33) and Cincinnati (+34). The Badgers finished just two strokes behind Rutgers (+43) but edged Miami (Ohio) by one stroke and Cleveland State (+47) by two.

"We kind of just kept stubbing our toe this week, every time we had a little bit of momentum and got it really going, we couldn't keep it up for an entire round," Burcin said. "Hopefully it's just some growing pains with our younger guys but it's something that we need to correct so I'm really excited to see them progress and I look forward to Charleston"

The Badgers will now look ahead to their next trip to South Carolina, this time to compete in the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate from March 26-28.
