WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Highlighted by freshman Nick Robinson's first-ever top-five finish at a 54-hole event, solid play by underclassmen paced the Wisconsin men's golf team to a tied-for-sixth finish at the Boilermaker Invitational.

Robinson (71-70-73=214) tied for third after shooting a 1-over 73 in the final round. The Palos Verdes, California, native finished just two strokes off first-place Bjarki Petursson of Kent State to collect his best 54-hole tournament finish as a Badger.

At 3-over, sophomore Jordan Hahn (69-77-73=219) tied for 13th en route to earning his fifth top-20 finish of the season.

"I'm really proud of Nick and he was in it all day and able to play solid throughout so he had an unbelievable week," UW head coach Michael Burcin said. "Jordan just continues to be a horse for this team and played great again."

Freshman Pete Kuhl (74-77-75=226) shaved two strokes off his second round total to move into a tie for 42nd, while junior Eddie Wajda (79-78-72=229) fired an even par-72 to record UW's best round of the day and jump up to a tie for 54th.

Senior Ben Skogen (75-80-76=231), who competed as an individual, ended the tournament with a 4-over 76 to finish in a tie for 63rd. Sophomore Brett Robinson (83-81-78=242) recorded his best round of the tournament with a 6-over 78 to finish tied for 81st.

Kent State took home the team title at 1-over, followed by Purdue (+6), Northwestern (+10) and UNLV (+11).  Ohio State (+21) finished just three strokes ahead of the Badgers (+24) and UCF, while Indiana claimed eighth at 28-over.

"We played well today but I think we all probably hoped we'd play a little bit better because after yesterday, we were really in the mix," Burcin said. "I think there is a lot to build on and this will be really good for us as we look ahead to Big Tens and the end of the season."

Next up, the Badgers will set their sights on the Big Ten Championships. This year's tournament will take place in Baltimore, Maryland, at the Baltimore Country Club from April 28-30.
