Barela ends spectacular weekend in sixth place

Sophomore leads Badgers to top-10 finish in Florida

Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. - Griffin Barela's 4-under par total of 212 positioned the sophomore to a sixth place finish at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida this weekend. Barela's efforts helped Wisconsin grab a share of ninth place at the 18-team tournament over St. Patrick's Day weekend.

Barela broke par twice in three rounds Saturday and Sunday, finishing with his best performance of the season. It was his fourth career top-10 finish. The effort helped ensure Wisconsin's fourth-straight top-10 tournament finish as the Badgers finished the weekend with an 889 (+25).

Senior Jordan Hahn also surged into the top-25 on the final day of play, riding a final round 71 to move the UW veteran into a share of 25th place with a 221 (+5) 54-hole performance.

Freshman Cameron Frazier was also impressive as an individual, tying for 38th place on a 224 (+8) effort. Frazier went lower every round of the tournament, including a 71 third round finish.
